Chronic Cough, Heartburn & Regurgitation Surgical Success Story

Jul 10, 2014

This is Barbara’s surgical story with Dr. Bell at Institute of Esophageal and Reflux Surgery. Barbara first came to Institute of Esophageal and Reflux Surgery because of an unrelenting cough. This cough was chronic and happened day and night. Barbara was also experiencing heartburn and regurgitation that she was unsuccessfully treating with Prilosec and Zantac. Her pulmonologist recommended she come see Dr. Bell because he thought her cough was related to reflux. Barbara underwent a surgical work up and she turned out to be a great surgical candidate. Barbara had laparoscopic surgery in June of 2013 to repair her hiatal hernia and a laparoscopic fundoplication to treat her regurgitation and heartburn. Barbara shared her story one year from surgery, and she is doing GREAT! Most importantly her cough is significantly improved.
