Cine Esophagram

When a barium swallow is required to diagnose a problem, a video-recorded X-ray can be used to get a better view and understanding of the issue. This is known as a cine esophagram.

The patient is given barium to swallow, followed by a pill. Video is used to capture the swallow so any anomalies or issues can be seen in action. This procedure is useful for determining if the patient suffers from gastric or esophageal issues.

The process is painless and safe. A cine esophagram also exposes the patient to less radiation than traditional still imaging.

If you are experiencing gastric or esophageal issues and would like to receive a cine esophagram, contact us to schedule an appointment. Dr. Reginald Bell has over 20 years of experience performing procedures on the esophagus and stomach.
