Dr. Bell Discusses Treating Regurgitation in GERD on Podcasts360

Being able to get your information directly from the experts is a great thing, especially when it comes to information about your health. Hearing an expert explain things makes them easier to digest and understand, and you’re able to feel confident that the information you are receiving is true and trustworthy.

Earlier this month, board-certified general surgeon Dr. Reginald Bell was the invited guest on Podcasts360, a podcast powered by Consultant360 dedicated to providing current medical news, information, and research.

Dr. Bell came on the podcast to discuss a study he spearheaded that examined the effectiveness of increasing proton pump inhibitor (PPI) dosages versus using magnetic sphincter augmentation (MSA). 152 patients who suffered from gastroesophageal reflux disease and used PPIs were studied.

Over the course of six months, Dr. Bell and his fellow researchers found only 10% of patients who treated their GERD with increased PPI dosages experienced relief, while 89% of patients treated with MSA experienced relief.

You can listen to Dr. Bell on the podcast by following this link. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your GERD, you can contact the Institute of Esophageal and Reflux Surgery today to schedule a consultation. We can provide you with the care and long-lasting relief you need.
